Walk-behind Mower
Buying Tips

When you’ve decided to buy a lawn mower, you should consider the following:

THE SIZE AND APPEARANCE OF THE LAWN.

A power lawn mower is recommended for areas larger than 300 sq m. The larger the lawn, the greater the cutting width.

Remember that every 1,000 sq m of lawn you mow means a walk of two to three kilometres. Which means that self-propelled mowers or Riders become interesting options.

HOW OFTEN DO I MOW?

The cutting system you choose is determined by the type of lawn and how often you mow it. Rear and side ejection can handle taller, wilder grass, coarser grass types and seldom-cut lawns.

DO I WANT COLLECTION?

Lawn mowers with collection save time and clean-up, and can also be used for leaves, twigs, weeds etc. Collection is also a good idea if you want to avoid allergic reactions to grass, and decrease the spreading of weed seeds.

What is BioClip?

The BioClip method is ideal if you demand first-rate results and if you mow often. The results are first-rate and the finely-chopped grass cuttings fertilise the lawn and make it more drought resistant.

Do I want an environmentally-friendly, quieter lawn mower?

For environmentally conscious people, a battery-powered mower can be an excellent option. Our battery-powered mowers can handle areas up to approx. 1,000 sq m. Perfect for someone who doesn’t want to disturb the neighbours.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF
VARIOUS CUTTING METHODS.

Collection

  • Gives ”tidy” results.
  • Prevents the spread of weed seeds.
  • Prevents overfertilisation.
  • The lawn requires supplementary nouríshment.
  • The collected material must be emptied and composted.
  • The humus layer can get thinned out.

Side ejection

  • Spreads the clippings better.
  • Can handle larger and coarser volumes of grass than collection and mulching.
  • Can spray stones and grass.

BioClip

  • For healthier grass and first-class results.
  • Less risk of grass and stone spray.
  • Nourishment and water is returned to the grass.
  • Can cause the grass clippings to form clods when long grass is cut.

BE CONSIDERATE TO THE NEIGHBOURS.

  • Choose a suitable time to mow. For instance, if you have a power mower, avoid evenings and weekends if possible.
  • Remember that people in your surroundings can be sensitive to airborne grass pollen.
